How to find your MAC address

A MAC (Media Access Control) address is a unique identification number assigned to devices, such as a NIC or router. Your NIC has a unique MAC address that WOWACCESS utilizes to validate your computer and control access to our network, and the Internet.

The MAC will look like this  00:00:00:00:00:00, it will have a total of twelve numbers and letters - separated in pairs by :

Follow the instructions below to find your MAC address.

 
On Windows 2000 and XP computers:

From the Windows Desktop:
  1. Go to Start, then to Run
  2. Type in cmd and press OK
  3. This will bring you to the Windows System command prompt.
  4. At the C:\> Prompt, type ipconfig /all and press enter.
  5. Look for the Physical Address - which is the MAC address.
  6. At the C:\> Prompt, type exit and press enter to close the window.

 

 
On Windows 95, 98 and ME computers:

From the Windows Desktop:
  1. Go to Start, then to Run
  2. Type in winipcfg and press enter
  3. From the dropdown list, find your network card.
  4. Find the Adapter Address which is the MAC address.
  5. Press OK to close window.

 

 
On Macintosh computers:

  1. From the Apple Menu Items, access Control Panels.
  2. From Control Panels dialog box, access the TCP/IP control panel.
  3. With the TCP/IP Control Panel selected, go to the File menu and select Get
